Most patients can return home the same day.

The chin implant procedure takes less than an hour to perform and can be done under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia, depending on the patient's and doctor's preferences.

Recovery

After chin implant surgery, patients often experience tightness and swelling for the first few days. Any discomfort can be relieved with pain medication, although it will usually subside on its own shortly after surgery. You will likely be restricted to a soft diet until the gums heal from the incision. If sutures need to be removed, this will be done in four to seven days.

Since incisions are made in the mouth for this procedure, scars are not visible and there are no obvious indications that surgery was performed.

Results
